| I feel so blessed to have blogging as an option to make some extra money on the side. Making extra money is something that many of us want to do, but sometimes we just don't know how to go about it or what our options are out there. I am glad that I learned about getting paid to blog a long time ago...as it has been a wonderful second source of income for me!

| I've had a great night tonight...but I'm a little tired. I think I'm just going to go to bed early and get well rested for the long weekend ahead. I am still not sure what the plan is for this weekend...but I'm sure we'll come up with something. Hopefully I'll still be able to make it back to see the fam.

| Have you ever thought how nice it would be if the gas prices would finally go down?? I know that I have a number of times. I remember when I could fill my tank for less than 15 dollars, now it is almost doubled that!! I think it's just ridiculous how much gas costs, and I have always wanted a way to save some money on it. I recently came across a great way that can help us all get cash back rewards when we buy gas. We can do this by using a cash back gas credit card. Basically this card gives you cash back on the money you spend for gas using the credit card. It's like a rewards type of credit card. I thought this was a neat idea. | Have you ever noticed that some of the mailboxes in the apartment buildings that you've lived in aren't the nicest. Where I live, there are some of the mailboxes that barely even shut correctly. They're just too old and really need to be replaced. I think that my landlords should take a look at getting new cbu mailboxes. It would make such a difference to the usability of the them and the appearance. I may have to share this idea with them.

| My brother-in-law absolutely loves the heated double garage in their new home. The one thing that he said he would really like though, is more storage and organizational equipment so his tools and things are just lying around every where. His lack of tool storage is really beginning to bother him, because he feels that his garage is too cluttered. He's going to have get some good storage and organizational equipment to help clean up his garage a bit.

| My sister and her husband are going to be looking into getting some new furniture for their basement in their new home at some point. | When I was at walmart today picking up some odds and ends things, I walked by the candy and just had a craving for starburst. | Today was another beautiful day! It was cool out and wasn't too humid at all. I still found that having the air conditioner on is more comfortable than having the windows open, but that's alright. I'm just glad it's more enjoyable to spend some time outside now.

| It's that time of year when many people might be considering another vacation before the summer ends. I am kind of having that same itch to get out of Iowa and go some where else for a few days. From what I hear, Deer Valley and Park City Utah are both great places to spend a few days. | I don't know about you, but pull ups is something that I always enjoyed. I could do quite a few back in the day, but haven't done them in a while...however I would like to start. | It sure has been nice weather outside the past couple of days. This morning I walked out to my car and it was actually chilly out. It felt good though. | I'm looking forward to having a long weekend. I haven't really had one of those since I began working 4 months ago. Monday is Labor Day, which means no work for me. | I'm still thinking about going back home to visit my parents and my sister and her husband this weekend...as it's been quite some time since I've been back. | It sounds like my dad and Scott are going to have a fun day today! They are playing in a golf tournament that Scott's work is putting on. I guess it's an all day thing, like from 8-6 or something. At least they feed them breakfast, lunch and supper...I think that's pretty nice of them. But yeah...they should have a really great day.

| I've never really been a huge sports nut, but I do enjoy going to a good football or basketball game every now and then. I've never tried to get tickets, but that's because I've heard from people what a hassle it can be. Getting tickets to NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL games, or concerts can be a hassle from what everyone tells me. These events are just so popular that they're either sold out or tickets are never what you want. I was happy to hear about Premium Seats USA though. | Although I am out of college now....I still live in a college town and can't believe that it is already that time for college students to move back down and get ready for school!! | Today is a very pleasant day. I walked outside this morning to my car and expected it to be raining and very humid like it has been recently. It wasn't either of those things though. | Can you believe that most of the schools have started classes already?! I just can't believe it's already that time of year...where did the summer go?? I feel like I just graduated college and started my job, and here I've been at it for 4 months already!! Time just flies when you're having fun and busy all the time. | My sister is having a hard time figuring out some things with her blogger account. For some reason when she goes into "layout" and tries to "add a page element" to her blog, she can't figure it out. For some reason the "add a page element" button is missing and is no where to be found. She can't figure out what the problem is. I'm going to try and take a look at it and see if I can figure it out...but if anyone knows what might be causing this, I would love your feedback.

I have a cousin who is actually going to school to create movie clips. He just loves this sort of thing. I'm going to have to tell him about the new Coke zero website I think. | Today was an okay day as far as weather goes...but it could have been a little less humid and warm. For the past few days it's been so pleasant outside...cool and a nice breeze. | Well, my day at work went fairly quickly...which is always nice. Now I'm home and have to figure out what to have for supper?! | The main experience that I've had with taking out loans, is that with my car and the big one...with college. Unfortunately, especially with college expense, it seems that young people like myself are forced to take out loans if they want to get an education. Not many people can afford 15,000-20,000 a year just for school. In my experience with loans, it does seem like banks in particular are a little quick to give out loans and secured loans without making sure that the person taking the loan out can make the payment. However, I don't put all the blame on the banks. My sister made a very good point when she and her husband recently bought a house. She was discussing how banks ask you some information about your budget, and then tell you how much they'd be willing to lend you. She said that the amount they told her husband and her was way more than they could actually afford to pay back. So yes, banks do do this, but my sister said that people need to understand that it's the borrowers responsibility to know what they can afford as well. She knew that they only could afford X amount of dollars per month, so she knew that they needed to borrow less than what the bank offered. So yes, I do think banks lend out money quite easily, but I also think that we as borrowers need to be responsible and know what our budget is and what we can afford. In the past I feel that I've been pretty sensible with my borrowing, just as my sister has. I always know what I will be able to afford and I don't take out more than that. If and when I have to take out more personal loans for something, I will do so with that same mindset. This is a paid post.

| Wow, did this weekend fly by. I was hoping to have a nice relaxing weekend, enjoying some time with Renee...but it just seemed to fly by. It never fails that I get busy doing things on the weekend and then I can't seem to just sit and relax much. Oh well, there's always another weekend.

| My sister just told me the other day that she was going to be making a birthday cake for Scott for his birthday. He really likes the Jello cakes. Have you heard of it? | There are two dogs that live next door...and they're pretty big too. I notice that they are outside on the porch a lot, but right when the owner gets home, the first thing he does is let them inside. I think that's great. It seems that there are too many owners now a days that don't care about their dogs and just leave them locked up or standing outside all day long. It's so sad.

| Sometimes I get so frustrated, because sending pictures through e-mail can take forever! At times I have a number of pics that I want to send, and I have to send them in a number of e-mails just get them all to send. I recently came across a great site that I wanted to share with everyone. It is a blog site that discusses different things, including addiction, abuse, detox, Cocaine Rehabs and treatment. What I thought was really neat about this site was that people share their own experiences, stories, etc. with addiction and abuse. | The rain is back...and I think it's here to stay for a while. It's been such a gloomy week or two...and I can't believe how much rain we've gotten! I like the cooler weather, but am not wild about all this rain. I think we've gotten all that we need.

| I heard the news today that Hurricane Dean slammed into Mexico. It was a category 5 hurricane, but when it hit it was a category 3. That was better than it could have been...but a category 3 hurricane is still very powerful and can cause lots of damage. I hope that everyone got out of there safely and that the storm quickly passes.

Buying homes and real estate has really been the topic of conversation in my family lately. My sister and her husband recently bought their very first home and all of us are so happy for them. It sounds like buying a home is much more time consuming than I ever imagined though. Thankfully they had a great agent and banker who made things very pleasant for them. Someday I picture myself living in a big city, like Miami or LA maybe. When the time comes for me to move, I'm definitely going to have to check into the Miami real estate, or the real estate in LA possibly, and see what's out there.

| My parents have lived in their home for over 20 years! Over those 20 years they've sure done a lot to that house. They refinished a lot of the rooms, they added on a really nice addition, and they even redid their kitchen, which is absolutely beautiful now!! When they redid the kitchen it made such a difference. For me Orlando is so special because they have so much to offer people of all ages. For children there's the obvious theme parks, which can be truly magical at that young of an age. | My brother-in-law's birthday is coming up in about a week. I was thinking about it the other day and can't believe that he, and my twin siblings are going to be turning 25 this year!! | I have a great church here where I live. I always enjoy going because the atmosphere is so welcoming!! It's a baptist affiliated church, but they have kind of branched out calling themselves Prarie Lakes. My parents really enjoy going as well, as the pastor there used to be the pastor where I grew up. We got to go this morning, and they got to say hi to him, so that was nice.

| There's this show on tv about Ice Road Truck Drivers. I have only watched it a few times...but wow is it amazing what these men do two months out of the year. They risk their lives and money to drive across ice roads to get loads where they need to go up north. I was just amazed that there's actually guys who do this. | My girlfriend, dad, and brother-in-law, all have been getting me into golf. And I can actually say that the sport is fun, although I like it better with a golf cart. The only problem I had is that I didn't have any clubs. So my dad and brother-in-law were able to put a nice set together for me. I have nice Wilson Irons and putter, and JBS driver and 3 wood. It will make a nice set for me to start out with, and then down the road I can buy a really nice set to last me.

| Lately, it seems that celebrities just can't stay out of trouble and I, for the life of me, can't understand it. They have all the money in the world, and shouldn't have a care in the world financially, why would you get into dog fighting. Micheal Vick, deserves everything that is coming to him. Killing dogs, financing the money for this gambling ring, and providing the place for these events to take place is really unacceptable. Vick should be put away for no less than a year and shouldn't be allowed to comeback to football for at least 2 years, then maybe he'll understand what he has and learn for what he has done.

| With my parents being down here to visit me, and knowing that they don't mind spending money when going out to eat, I saw a great opportunity to eat a the Lonestar Steakhouse. Wow, was that a great choice. I have never ate at a steakhouse like this before, what a great steak. They have the most tender steak that I have had in a long time, and I like to eat steak. | Yesterday my parents came down to see me and we were able to go to the new casino that was just recently build down here in Waterloo. My dad, I know, was very curious to see what that casino looks like, since he works close with the casino up in his area. So we went check it out. It sounds like the south has been hit by Hurricane Erin for instance, and now Hurricane Dean is headed that way and is a category 3 already! It's hard when there are uncontrollable factors like hurricanes and tornadoes, because there's only so much preparation one can do.

I'm sure there are many people out there who've had some experience with loans at some point or another. Especially those of you who are in my boat and went to college for 4 years. This is the biggest experience I've had with borrowing money, and let me tell you...I really learned a lot about the whole borrowing process. I definitely think that it's pretty easy to borrow money for young people, but it seems necessary when you consider that we're getting our education. I must say though, that I'm sure there are people out there who borrow the money and have a very hard time paying it back. School is expensive. I think it's important to borrow within your means. If you're a college student and know what job you're going to be getting into...kind of judge your borrowing on that. It's important not to get way too far over your head...although many lenders are understanding and help to make your payment period as painless as possible. Sometimes they even have a income contingent plan of sorts. All I know is that, if you're going to borrow money, for personal loans, or even secured loans, it's important to learn more about it and compare loans and know what you're going to have to pay in the end. Planning ahead is key!

| I hadn't talked with my sister in a while, but she recently told me that her pregnancy is going very well...which always good to hear. She can't believe how fast time goes by...especially now that she's going to the doctor every two weeks. | I've never been a body builder before, but have dabbled in weight-lifting. | I have a pair of Air Jordan shoes and I absolutely LOVE them!! They are so comfortable and fun to wear. I just love the way they look and feel....especially when I am playing basketball. One thing I like about Air Jordans is that they're a shoe you know is good quality because they've been around and loved for so long. My dad has always wanted a nice truck...ever since I can remember. Now he has a really nice truck, and the neatest thing about it is that it used to belong to my Grandpa (his dad) before he passed away. It's not only a nice truck, but it also has such sentimental value to the family as well. One of my favorite features about my dad's truck...something that he added to it after he bought it is the tonneau cover. It's so handy when you're wanted to move smaller items and you want them covered. I think this is probably one of his favorite features as well.

| As a young person, especially while I was in school, I really never thought about life insurance too much. Well, that is until I got a job and started thinking more about my future. Now I've begun to think about things like life insurance more and more...and realize how important it is for people to have. | I'm so thankful that the weather is finally not so humid out! The humidity was really getting to me, and it's nice that it's let up just a little bit. It rained a little bit this weekend, but other than that it was really a pretty pleasant weekend to be outdoors and enjoying the weather. So, I'm really excited because I got the Air Jordan's that I ordered in the mail the other day!! The picture does not even do them justice....they are SO cool!! How many of you remember having Air Jordan's when you played sports in school? I know I do, and I was so excited to get a pair and be able to review them. Mine are SO comfortable, and look so cool with the blue on the sides. It was hard for me to choose the pair I wanted, as BuyRetroShoe.com has so many to choose from, but these were my favorite. | How many of you out there really enjoy all the social networking sites available these days? I'm sure there are many, as this seems to be the big fad among young people especially. I am also someone who really enjoy these types of sites, especially as someone who is out of college and interested in keeping track of my friends. So many of them are out of the state, married, and even having kids. I like to keep in touch with them and know what's going on in their lives. 5 year reunions are just not enough for that. | Do any of you know someone with Alzheimer's? If so, you know what sad disease it is. My grandma has Alzheimer's and it's really heartbreaking to see the effect it has had on her. When I was younger I remember her being this very sharp woman...she was a teacher and very, very smart! As time went on she became more and more forgetful until she no longer remembered any of us, not even her sons. Recently she had a bout with pneumonia which had her in the hospital. Thankfully she seems to be doing a little better, but it's still so sad to see her in this state. How sad would it be to be sick and not have any way to express yourself to those around you?! She's in a nursing home and they take really good care of her, but she has no idea that she's even there, and is not able to express herself in anyway...not even through facial expressions anymore. I hope that someday we can figure out what causes this awful disease and find a cure for it.

| Well, as I've mentioned many times in the past month, my sister and her husband bought their first home!! They are so excited, especially now that they are finally all moved in and settled. I'm so happy for them!! The place sounds really nice...I can't wait to see it. They're just happy to be done waiting for the whole closing process, which took a few weeks. Luckily they had a great realtor who walked them through every step, since they had never bought a house before. They also had a wonderful banker who made things very simple for them as well. I'm glad to hear that the process of buying a house wasn't too stressful for them, and now they can just relax and enjoy it.

Do any of you have a pet? Maybe a dog perhaps? Well, my parents have a dog and she is the absolute best. My sister stays at home right now, and she loves to "dogsit" for them to have Zoe for company. She is just the cutest little dog, and so well behaved. My sister barely even knows she's there. She's so easy to just cuddle and love on...bichons are quite the dog! The picture above is one my sister recently took of Zoe at her house..isn't she cute?!? :)

| With the weather like it has been, I find that almost all I drink is water. Do you find yourself doing the same thing? | My sister and her husband are really excited to be in there new home. It sounds like pretty much everything is settled in thanks to the help of my parents and Scott's family. That has to be a great feeling! I've only seen the house from the outside so far, but am looking forward to seeing the inside...as it sounds very nice. They have two living rooms upstairs, a large kitchen, the possibility of 4 bedrooms upstairs and at least one down stairs as well as 1 1/2 bathrooms. They had a lot of fun painting and doing things to the house to make it their own...I can't wait to see it!!

| Traveling is one of my favorite things to do!! I am so happy that I get the opportunity to do this for my job every once in a while...as it is so great to go to new places that I've never been before. I'm glad that my family went on many vacations when I was younger, as this really gave me an appreciation for all that is out there to see and enjoy. | Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it back this past weekend to help my sister and her husband move into their new home. Things were just really busy, and gas is too expensive for me to go back every weekend. I'm hoping to make it up there sometime soon though, as their place sounds really nice.

Some of these being Big Bird, Elmo, Dora, and more popular toys that many children have. The reason for this recall is because the paint used has lots of lead in them.
